We won, we won, WE WON!!!

So this weekend Jacob and I drove up to Dallas for the Texas vs. OU game and I am sooo glad that we went to that game! Not only was it the best game I've ever seen in person, but we beat the No. 1 ranked team in the country! How awesome is that?!

We met our friends Wes and Kyle and Greg and Lauren at the Fairmont hotel in Dallas on Friday night. They had flown in from Seattle for the game. We went up to the room and changed and went out for drinks. We had a great time hanging out and catching up with our good friends. Around 12:00 a.m. we decided to call it a night since they had all been up since 3:00 a.m. to catch their flight. The next morning Lauren and I got up around 6:00 a.m. and went for an early workout. It was a bit rough getting out of bed, but we were both so glad we did and it was such a nice time to hang out with one another since we rarely get to see one another. We came back to the room and then we all headed out to the game around 8:00 a.m. It took us about 30 minutes to get over to the cotton bowl (even though it's only like 2 miles away) because there were so many people all trying to get to the same place. It took some people several hours to get to the game! Thankfully Wes knew a back way to go. Once we got to the stadium we weren't real sure what to do because we didn't even have tickets to the game yet. We decided to go ahead and buy tickets to the fair, go have fun at the fair for a few hours and then try and buy some tickets once it got closer to the game. Thankfully our plan worked great and about 15 minutes before kick off we bought 4 tickets. Unfortunately me and Lauren had to sit separately from the boys, but we had a great time cheering and going crazy at the game together. The game was amazing and it was so fun for Lauren to see all the craziness that goes on at this game. The game started at 11:00 a.m. and was over around 3:00 p.m. We stood up the entire game,so we were pretty worn out since we'd been walking around since 8:00 a.m. that morning. Nevertheless, we pushed on and decided to go hang out at the fair a little longer. We tried some delicious, and fried, fair food and watched a cute dog show. We finally were all so pooped by about 5:00 p.m we thought we should go back to the hotel and rest for a while before dinner. So, we all relaxed for a couple of hours and then headed off for dinner at the West End. We ended up eating at Hoffbraus steakhouse. The food was so good and we all ate a ton! After dinner we went back to the hotel, ordered some cookies and relaxed in bed. We called it a night early after the very long day that we'd had. The next morning the rest of our gang had to catch a flight out of Dallas at 10:30 a.m., so we went for an early morning breakfast together at 7:00 a.m. It was so sad telling them bye, especially since we'd only seen them for a few days! It wasn't too bad though because we know that we'll be going to Seattle in February for Wes and Kyle's wedding. All in all we had a wonderful weekend and I'm hoping we can go to the Texas v. OU game every year! It was so much fun!
