Mother's Day 2012 & Jayda's Pre-K Graduation!
Things have once again been a bit crazy around here and the time has been getting away from me. However, I wanted to put up a few quick pics from the past couple of weeks. Also, the captions on my pictures have not been doing what I want them to, so if things look funny, it's Blogspot's fault, not mine! :)
Sydney loved playing in the splash park for the first time this year, yay!
Jayda was having a blast too! They had both been begging me to take them to the splash park, but everytime we would go it would be broken. This time it was actually working and they were thrilled!
Playing out at the sonic playground on a friday afternoon.
Oupa had to attend a graduation at Sam Houston recently and the girls just loved his outfit!
The girls wanted to try on Oupa's hat. So funny!
"Look at me!"
Look at that sweet little face. Who would've thought she was catching bugs?
"Yay for my bug catcher!"
My sweet little family on Mother's Day 2012. We went to Huntsville to see both of our moms for Mother's Day weekend. We spent saturday with my mom and went out to Olive Garden to celebrate. We had a great dinner! On sunday we celebrated Mother's Day with Jacob's mom and the boys grilled us some yummy steaks out at their house. It was so nice to relax and enjoy some much needed family time!
Mother's Day at Oma's house.
My sweet girls and I on Mother's Day at Nana's house! I am SO incredibly blessed to be their mommy!
Jayda had her end of the year program last thursday and her class sang 2 songs. My favorite was the ABC song in spanish. Their little accents are SO stinkin' cute! She did a great job and was smiling the whole time!
Sydney just had to go see Jayda after she got done with her performance!
After they finished singing Jayda's teachers handed out their "Pre-K diplomas"! I can not believe my sweet little baby girl has "graduated" from Pre-K! The time has gone by so fast and she has grown into a loving, smart, mature, caring, sweet and fun to be around little lady. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for her!
The next morning we went to the elementary school in our neighborhood and registered Jayda for KINDERGARTEN! I can not believe she will actually be starting kindergarten in a few short months. Although the time has flown by in so many ways, I feel like she is definitely ready for elementary school. I think she is going to grow and blossom in these next few years and I seriously can not wait to watch her "spread her wings".
We were able to take our boat out for the first time this weekend and we all had a blast! Jayda's cousins Cole and Caitlyn came with us and everyone had a great time tubing and swimming in the lake!
Cole and Sydney chillin' out in the boat. So cute!
Jayda took a few short rides on the tube with Daddy, but was not a big fan of it. A few years ago she absolutely loved the tube and could not get enough of it, and actually wanted to go faster and faster. This time around she was very weary of it and didn't really like it very much. I think she will come around, we were just definitely surprised at how different she reacted to it this time.
Caitlyn had a blast out on the tube and held on for dear life, never letting go even once!
Cole had lots of fun on the tube as well!

Springtime Fun!
Things have been pretty busy around our house lately. We have been traveling a lot on the weekends and it seems like the weekdays have been flying by. I haven't gotten many pictures of the girls lately because we have been on the go so much, but I do plan on doing a better job of that soon! Jayda started swim team last week so that has been keeping us busy, along with our normal day to day routine. It is already getting really hot outside, so it's nice that our neighborhood pools are now open on the weekends. We spent most of the afternoon this past sunday hanging out at the pool and the girls had a blast!
Jayda and her friend Jenna wore the same letters to school on alphabet day. They were so happy!
"HI MOMMY!!" Jayda was so cute with all of her "p's" on in the parade!
Sydney wanted to sit outside and watch for turtles at Jayda's school.
~A little side note on Sydney~
Miss Sydney Anne has become quite the handful lately! I believe she has hit the "terrible two's" full force. She is SUPER independent and does not want you to do ANYTHING for her! Whew! She has to do everything all by herself and if you try to help her she throws a full on temper tantrum. From getting in the car on her own, to getting up on the potty, to turning on/off the sink water, to getting in her high chair, putting her drink in the cup holder, brushing her teeth, putting her clothes on, closing the car door, putting her shoes on, opening up her snacks, etc....and you get the point. She wants NO help from anyone. So, needless to say everything takes a lot longer to get done these days. I am learning yet again just how much patience I can have, and that is not an easy lesson. So many times I just want to do things for her, or at least help her so that it doesn't take forever. However trying to help her has been leading to one fit after the other so I have been trying to be more patient, and sometimes count to 10 and just breathe, so that I don't get too frustrated. It's really hard when we are in a hurry and the little miss won't let anyone help her get ready. Being a mom is definitely wonderful and rewarding, but some days it is very trying and difficult. The good news is that I know this phase won't last forever, and soon enough she will grow out of it. And, the other good thing is that she isn't like this all of the time. She is super sweet and loving and tells Jacob and I that she loves us all the time. It is the cutest thing ever!
Pretty girls outside all ready to head to Oma and Oupa's house for the weekend!
Gotta look for a few bugs before we get in the car!
A few weekends ago the girls went to stay with Oma and Oupa while Jacob and I went to San Antonio. Oma took the girls to the Sam Houston statue for a visit. They thought it was really cool and Oma even got them both a mini Sam statue.
Little missy riding around on the 4-wheeler at Oma's house. She learned how to turn in a circle so she was super excited.
Jayda hunted for bugs ALL weekend while she was at Oma and Oua's house. She LOVES bugs!
Last week Jayda started swim team for the first time. I thought she would like it and as it turns out she loves swim team! It brings back so many memories for me to see her out there at swim practice. She has practice everyday at 4 p.m. for the month of May and then it will switch to early morning practices in June and July. And, she actually made it all the way across the pool on her own without stopping several times yesterday! Yay!! She hadn't even made it across one time by herself before yesterday and in order to do the swim meets that is a requirement. I was so proud of her and she was very excited! She has met several little friends her age so it's been pretty fun for her to see them everyday. I can't wait for her first swim meet in a few weeks, should be pretty cute!
We went to "Baby Aiden's" birthday party last weekend. It was his 1st birthday, so he is not really a baby anymore, but we still call him "Baby A". He was so sweet as usual and was super happy go lucky at his party. He was not too sure about his cake at first, but once he got a few bites he seemed to love it. So glad we could be there to celebrate!
Sydney loved getting on the tractors at Aiden's construction themed birthday party!
