Jayda's 1st Day of Kindergarten!

Today was Jayda's first day of Kindergarten!  In some ways it's hard to believe she is actually starting school, and in some ways it feels like we have been waiting forever for this day to come!  She has been super excited about starting kindergarten, so this morning she was ready to go!  I have been so ready for her to start school for a long time, but yesterday I think it finally hit me and I got a bit sad.  Can't believe my little girl is going to be gone all day everyday to school!  However, I know that is exactly where she needs to be and she is so ready!  I had to wake her up bright and early this morning at 6:45 to get ready for school.  Daddy came to help wake her up too.  I think I'll have to get her up a little earlier tomorrow because we were a little rushed this morning.

Good morning little kindergartener!  It's time for school!

All dressed and ready for Kindergarten!

First day of school 2012, woo-hoo!!

Little sister had to get in on the action too!

She was so happy that daddy could come too!

Saying hi to her her new friend!

All done with her first day of school, yay Jayda!
Now for the walk home!

Jayda said she had lots of fun on her first day of kindergarten. She said she played a lot and saw several of her friends outside at recess. She told me they were not allowed to do the monkey bars, or the swings outside. Apparently little ones had gotten hurt on the monkey bars and I'm not sure why they couldn't swing. She said they also read a book about kisses and got a hershey kiss afterwards, which she really liked! She also told me that at lunch they had to stay sitting down the whole time and couldn't get up to throw their trash away until lunchtime was over. She seemed quite surprised by this rule. :) Overall it sounded like it was a great day and she said she loved kindergarten. So glad she had a wonderful first day!

August Happenings!

A few weeks ago we went to the skating rink with our playgroup for "toddler skate".  The girls had so much fun!  They could either skate or bring ride on toys to ride around the rink on.  Jayda has been asking to go back ever since.
Woo-hoo, this is so fun!

Uh-oh!

Sydney's first attempt at skating.

On July 31st, Jacob and I celebrated our 8 year anniversary.  We had a low key night at
home and I made Jacob's favorite angel food cake.  Isn't she a cute cake model?!

And, as an anniversary and birthday present Jacob got me a double jogging stroller!  I have been wanting one of these for years and was super excited when he gave it to me!  The girls and I have been enjoying it and I'm sure it is going to come in handy in a few months for Sydney and the baby when we walk Jayda to school.

At the beginning of August Andrea and I threw our dear friend Jolene a baby shower for little Dillon.
The theme was bees and I think everything turned out really cute.  Can't wait to meet Dillon McFarlane!

Sweet friends at Jolene's baby shower.

The diaper cake I made for Jolene.
Sydney turned 2 1/2 on August 11th, which was also my birthday.  She had been asking to sleep in the "big girl" bed for a few days so we figured it was a good time to switch her into it so that we could set the crib up for the baby. Although I didn't get a good picture of her in the crib before we took it down, nor have I gotten a picture of her in the toddler bed, I did get this adorable one of her in her room while we were swapping out the beds.  She has done so good sleeping in her toddler bed!  We even have to wake her up in the morning and after nap sometimes because she is sleeping so long in her bed.  She seems to love it and feels like a big girl now.  I'm so glad this transition went smoothly because for a while Sydney kept saying that she did not want the baby to have her bed. So thankful everything has gone so well, and so proud of my sweet Sydney!

Cheesing in her room while Daddy and I moved her big girl bed in!
Later that evening we went to Taste of Texas with Oma and Oupa for my birthday dinner.  Although we had to wait for a while to get a table, the food was delicious as always!  The girls had fun playing outside and eating popcorn while we waited.  Thank you Jacob, Jayda, Sydney, Oma and Oupa for a great birthday! Love you all so much!

Being silly outside with daddy.

Birthday cake, YUM!
Last week we met our good friends Michelle, Riley and Aiden at Bouncin' Bears in Spring to play.  This place had lots of indoor bounce houses and the kids all had so much fun jumping and playing together!  It was so fun getting to see the Sanders again too!  We miss y'all!

Sydney loved going down the big slide with her sister.

Jayda had a blast too!

Baby # 3...

Is a GIRL!  Looks like our little Christmas present is going to be a baby girl this year!  We just had the 20 week ultrasound done this morning and found out that it's a little miss in there.  Jacob and I are both so excited and both had a feeling that it was another girl.  At least we already have everything we need for a girl!  She was measuring right on target and weighed 11 ounces.  She was in the breech position today, with her head up near my belly button and feet down on my bladder.  Luckily her position doesn't matter since I'll have a c-section.  The due date is December 18, 2012, and I will have her about a week before that.  The girls are also excited about getting a baby sister, although last night they started saying they wanted a baby brother.  They are going to be so excited to have another baby to take care of and dress up, no matter what it is.  We can't wait to meet this sweet baby girl in December!
