Sydney's 3rd Birthday & Avery at 2 Months!

Sydney turned 3 years old on February 11th and Avery turned 2 months old on February 14th so we've had a lot of celebrating to do around here! We also celebrated Valentine's Day!

Syd loves to hold her baby sister.

Smiley baby girl!

Sometimes Avery does not like to be held by her big sisters.  Guess she'll have to get used to it. :)

Such sweet sisters!

"Cutest Little Sister"

Jayda was helping me out with Avery while I cleaned up the kitchen after dinner.
Definitely comes in handy to have 2 other lil' mamas around!

Sydney always wants to get in the picture with little A!

All bundled up and ready to go out.

She did not enjoy her first tummy time experience.
We're going to have to start doing this a little more!
We had Sydney's 3rd birthday party at the gymnastics place in our neighborhood.  All of the kiddos had lots of fun playing in the gym, jumping on the trampolines and swinging into the pit.  They enjoyed pizza and cupcakes and Sydney thoroughly enjoyed herself.  Happy 3rd Birthday Sydney Anne!

The tables all set up.

Getting all stretched out before the gymnastics party.

"It's your birthday!"

Pretty little princess cupcakes and presents.  Yay!  Oh, and we got her a trampoline for her birthday!

Blowing out her 3 little candles.  Can.not.believe. she is 3 years old!!

She loves to lick the icing off of the cupcakes!

Waiting her turn to do the swing.

And going for it!  She did this over and over again at her party.

On the morning of her actual birthday, Monday February 11, 2013, Daddy and I gave her one more little gift.  A minnie mouse rolling backpack!  And she LOVED it!  She puts tons of toys in it and rolls it all over the house.

Sydney and I made birthday cupcakes on her birthday.  We had to sing happy birthday one more time!

Little Miss Sydney Anne is quite the handful at 3 years old!  She is VERY independent and does not want help to do ANYTHING.  She gets dressed by herself, goes to bathroom on her own, picks out her own shoes, buckles herself up in the car etc.  And if you try to help she gets super mad and throws a fit.  She wants everything when she wants it and has no patience if you tell her to wait.   And, trying to get her out of the house is pretty much a nightmare. I will ask her to get dressed and she only wants to wear parts of an outfit.  Like her shirt and no pants, or her shoes and no socks.  Then when I make her put on the rest of her clothes she throws a temper tantrum, crying and screaming and kicking her little legs.  Once she calms down she pulls all of her clothes out of her drawers and tries on a ton of different clothes.  She only wants to wear what she has in mind and it usually is not in any way appropriate to go out of the house!  We have been going round and round lately every single time we leave the house. The other day we were going to the park after school.  We had already had the usual battle over getting her clothes on but then I told her she had to put on socks with her boots, so she didn't get blisters on her feet.  She would NOT put socks on and was throwing a major fit.  So, we got in the car and picked Jayda up at school and headed to the park.  When we arrived at the park she still would not put her socks on so I told her she could not get out of the car and play until she did.  She sat in the car crying for 20 minutes, with the car door open of course, before she decided to actually put her socks on so that she could play.  I even had a woman at the park ask me if we knew there was a little girl crying in the car.  Of course I did and she wasn't going to win this battle!  Whew!  I know she will grow out of this phase at some point, but until then she is gonna wear this mama out!  Even now while I'm writing this she is throwing a fit and screaming in her room because she wants to wear shorts out this morning instead of pants, and I won't let her because it's 40 degrees out!  Oh, and the back talking has hit a new high.  She has been inttroduced to the paddle.  Poor thing, I hate to have to spank her but she is going to have to learn that talking back is just not ok. Besides all of that...she is super duper sweet and loving and kisses me all the time and tells me she loves me.  She loves Jayda and Avery SO much!  Sydney helps me take care of Avery and always gets me diapers and wipes or whatever I may need.  She loves to play outside on her bike or scooter and is always up for a trip to the park.  She would live outside if I let her!  Sydney's other love is our little puppy Daisy.  She can not get enough of that dog!  She holds her all the time and plays with her most of the day.  Daisy loves Sydney too so it works out well.  I signed her up for pre-school in the fall so hopefully she gets in and can go to school 2 days a week.  I think she will really enjoy pre-school and it will be so good for her!  Sydney Anne, you are such a sweetheart and we love you more than you'll ever know!

Avery turned 2 months old on Valentine's Day, Thursday February 14, 2013.

She was not too thrilled to have her picture taken that day.

"NO more pictures Mommy!!"
I can't believe Avery Mae is already 2 months old.  It seems like just last week that I had her.  Avery is such a sweet and cuddly little baby.  She loves to be held!  During the day she mostly rides around with me in the snugli.  She sleeps so good in it!  As soon as I put her in she's out.  It's nice that she likes to be in that because we are on the go a lot.  She rides in that to the park, to pick Jayda up at school, around the grocery store, out to take Daisy for a walk.  She's also in there when I cook dinner, do laundry, bathe the girls etc.  As you can tell, she spends a lot of time in there.  Thankfully at night she sleep very well in the pack n play.  She was sleeping in the rock-n-play cradle beside our bed and did well in it.  We just decided it was time to move her out of that so now she's in the snugle nest in the pack n play beside our bed.  Jacob usually rocks her to sleep at night around 8 p.m. and then lays her down in the bed.  Around 10-11:00 p.m. I feed her one more time and then she sleeps until between 4-6:00 a.m.  It's so nice that she's sleeping through the night now!  She then goes back to sleep until around 8:00 a.m. and then gets up to eat again.  Avery is such a good baby and just goes wtih the flow.  I guess she kind of has to with two older sisters.  She doesn't fuss much unless she's tired or hungry.  I recently switched  her newborn clothes out for size 3 months clothes.  It was sad to put away the newborn stuff, but I'm glad she's growing and getting bigger.  I took her in last friday for her 2 month check up and she weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces and was 21 3/4 inches long.  That puts her in the 25th percentile for height and weight.  She is just a smaller baby, but perfectly healthy and growing.  She seems to be about the same size as Sydney was at this age.  Avery has started smiling a lot more lately.  Whenever she wakes up and when we change her diaper she always looks up at us and smiles.  She loves for us to talk to her and she coos back.  It is so cute when she coos!  She likes to turn her little head to the side and raise her shoulders up when she's talking.  She raises her eyebrows a lot too when she coos.  It is the sweetest thing ever!  When daddy gets home from work she hears him and follows him around the room.  She likes to keep an eye out for him and loves to smile when she sees his face.  She is so cute and sweet and we all can't quite get enough of our sweet Avery Mae!  We love you so much sweet, sweet girl!

Then I got her ready to go out for the morning and she was much happier. :)

Jayda, Sydney and Avery on Valentine's Day 2013.

Baby girl's first Valentines.

Daddy brought home some Valentine's goodies!  Thank you Daddy!

Sweet pea got her first round of shots a few days after she turned 2 months old.
Surprisingly she was all smiley and happy when we got home.  Thank goodness!

This is the only picture I got of us taking Avery to church for the first time.
She did so good in church and slept on Daddy's chest.
