I am so proud of Miss Jayda Michelle! Back in September of last year she and Jacob went and picked out a goat for her to raise for 4-H. I honestly was very skeptical and had no idea how it would work out. Neither Jacob or I had grown up showing animals in the fair, and we sure had no knowledge of how to raise a goat! But, somehow we figured it out along the way and Jayda was a trooper and stuck with taking care of him. We all learned a lot this year about raising goats! He had to be fed twice a day, which Jayda took care of most days. The last few months we started feeding him once a day, but he seemed fine with that. Most of the time Jayda only walked him on the weekends, but once it got close to fair time she started walking him everyday. Pretty sure she needed to be walking him more, but we have learned now. :) I am proud of Jayda for sticking with it. She wants to show another goat next year, so to me that is success!

Getting her sign up on her stall. We checked him in on a Saturday and he stayed at the fair for just over a week until the next Sunday.
Fair week was very long! We had to make it out to the fairgrounds at least once, if not twice a day to feed and water Mr. Goat. Jayda did awesome though and didn't complain once about having to take care of him!
