First Swim Meet of Summer 2014!

Last saturday was the girls first swim meet of the season!  It was in College Station, and we had to be there at 7:15.  So, we had to get the girls up at 6:00 a.m. and put them straight in the car!  It was pretty early, but they were troopers and ate breakfast in the car on the way there.
By the time we arrived they were ready to swim!
Jayda and Gabby trying to get warmed up after their "warm-ups".

Poor Sydney was SO cold after her warm-ups.  Unfortunately Sydney did not want to get back in the pool after that, so she didn't end up swimming in her race. :(  Hopefully she will swim in the meet this saturday that's at our home pool.  We shall see...

Shivering, but ready for her race!

Behind her block about to swim.

Jayda swam super fast in freestyle and dropped 2 seconds off her time and got a 24.7.
She got 2nd place in the fastest heat!  Woo-hoo!

Sweet girls hanging out and snacking together at the swim meet.

Backstroke time.  She did great and got 3rd place in the fastest heat with a time of 32 seconds.

Love this picture of them cheering for Heidi before she swam!

We've been to the splash pad several times after swim practice.  Avery has so much fun in the "wa-wa"!!

These girls loving playing in the water!

Avery loves to run and touch the water coming out, then run off and yell "wa-wa, WA-WA!!"

Little water babe.

Last week was reading day at Jayda's school.  Me and the girls went up to
listen to her, and the other kids in her class read us their poems and stories.

Showing me her "What Am I?" story.

Sydney had lots of fun getting to see all of Jayda's friends.

Jayda's Allstar Tournament!

Jayda played softball for the first time this year and did great!  She was asked to be on the Allstar team so that was a big honor and she was very proud!  I don't think she realized how much more practicing that would mean, but she did great.  For the past month she has been having 2 hour practices twice a week, plus a few extra batting practices added in.  She learned a lot from her Allstar coaches and started batting so much better.  They really worked on her swing and taught her how to hit the ball.  By the time the Allstar tournament started, she was hitting the ball all the time! We were so proud of Jayda and all of her hard work!  On Saturday, the first day of the tournament, they played 4 games in one day!  I was amazed that girls this age were even capable of that!  I was super impressed by all of them and their perseverance!

Jayda played in left field for the tournament...in ready position!

Cheering on their teammates that are batting. :)

Jayda's first time up to bat on Saturday.  She hit the ball and scored a run.  Yay Jayda!!

Ready to run from first base.

Leaving 3rd base and heading home.  Go Jayda!

Warming up before game #2.  It was so hot outside on Saturday
and these girls all were practicing and playing so good!

Practicing her swing.

The Huntsville Stars!

Heading out to her position in left field.

Up to bat again...and getting another hit!

Sweet girl was so tired and hot by the 4th game of the day.

One out girls!

Ready to get another hit!

Warming up on sunday morning, bright and early at 7:00 am!

Fielding the ball.

Throwing it back to coach.

Watching her teammates bat.  Love this picture.

Up to bat at her last game of the tournament on sunday morning.
Notice the newly painted unicorn on the back of her helmet. :)
