Birthday Girls!

Last thursday, 8/11/11, was my 28th birthday and it was also Sydney's 18 month birthday! Yep, I'm getting old, hahaha! And, I can't believe my baby is already
1/2 way to 2 years old!! Me and the girls went to The Woodlands to meet my parents to celebrate this special day. We met at the mall and first had to take the girls on a ride on the carousel.

Jayda taking a ride on the carousel. She loves this!

Oma and Sydney going on a "riiiiide"!

Sweet little 18 month old, so cute!

After that, we walked down to the waterway and took a boat ride on the water taxi. The driver gave us a little tour of the restaraunts and buildings along the water. The girls had fun riding on the boat and looking around. They kept looking for the "duck-ducks".

The girls loved checking everything out while we took a ride on the water taxi.

Me and big sister on the boat ride, so sweet!

All of us on the water taxi, what a fun ride!

Once we finished the boat ride we headed up to eat dinner at Brio, one of my favorite restaraunts! Dinner was SO good and we all had a great time. After dinner we took the girls outside to play on the patio.

The birthday girls!!

Sweet little loves of my life!

The girls found a little place to dance to the music outside on the patio. They were having so much fun!

What a big girl!

Birthday desert at the restaraunt, yum! Thank you mom and dad for meeting us for dinner, we had a great time and I had a wonderful birthday. So much fun!

My sweet girls singing me happy birthday at the house! The yummy cheesecake was from my mom and was delish!

~Sydney @ 18 Months~
Oh, my sweet little Sydney! I can not believe she is already 18 months old. Although she is only 18 months old, she has already started to act somewhat like a
2 year old. Oh my, what are we in for?! She has started throwing little fits and temper tantrums when she doesn't get her way or has to do something that she doesn't want to. She usually starts crying and then lays down on the floor, face first, and cries for a while. We try not to give her attention and just walk away and after a few minutes she pops up and is fine again. It is actually quite funny! She has started talking a lot these days and copies anything you ask her to say. Her favorite words are "bebe" for baby, "wa-wo" for phone because that's how she says hello, "pesh" for purse. She carries these 3 things with her everywhere she goes! As soon as she wakes up in the morning she asks for these toys and goes to get them right away. She is such a little girly girl. Other words that she says a lot are "Jay-de" for Jayda, "bite" & "eat-eat" when she's hungry, and "dink" when she wants a drink, "ni-ni" for night night when she's tired, "dog-dog" for dog, "oosh" for shoe, "nak-nak" for snack, "bye-bye", and lots more that I can't think of right now. Sydney also loves to put on dress up jewelry. She always gets Jayda's jewelry out of the dress up box and brings it to me so that I'll open it for her. Sydney LOVES to play with Jayda and does all the time. They usually play very well together and are starting to have more and more fun together the older that Sydney gets. Sydney also wants to copy any and everything that Jayda does. She completely adores her and it is the sweetest thing. Sydney now has a total of 11 teeth. She only has one more of her 1 yr. molars left to come in, the other 3 already have. And, she sure does use those molars. She will eat pretty much anything, and generally is a very good eater. Jayda has even started trying new foods that she's never had before because she sees Sydney eating them, so that's been nice! Sydney is still taking one nap per day after lunch for about 2 hours. She also sleeps about 12 hours every night. It's so nice that she is such a good sleeper! Sydney definitely think she is a BIG girl! She thinks she can do anything that Jayda and her friends do and does not want to be a baby anymore! She will not sit in her high chair anymore, she only wants to sit (or more like stand because she's still too short) in the regular chairs. She now points at her high chair and says "bebe" for baby Aiden because that is his seat, not hers. Sydney still has a very laid back personality and just goes with the flow. She generally listens to us when we tell her to do something and doesn't get mad often. But, when she does decide to get mad, she gets really upset. She does get over it quickly though so that is good. Sydney also LOVES to be outside! She can not get enough of playing outside! She used to throw a major fit everytime we had to come inside, but seems to be outgrowing that some, thank goodness! For a long time every night when Jacob got home she would run outside to play. Then Jacob would have to bring her inside after a minute or two and she would get SO mad! So everynight daddy got welcomed home by Sydney throwing a major temper tantrum. Now she is still a bit hesitant to come back in, but usually does without much of a fuss. She also loves dogs! She loves getting to pet Harley and Nina and loves getting to see other dogs. She gets very excited when she sees a dog and starts yelling "dog-dog, dog-dog, doooog-doooooog!!" and stomping her little feet. It's so cute! Sydney is a water baby! Can't say enough about how much she loves the water! She goes under water like a pro and has never been scared of it one bit. She actually goes under water on purpose and stays under and looks around and then pops back up. Sydney jumps off the side of the pool all the time and loves it. We've had to teach her to wait until we are in the pool with her to jump or else she will just go on her own with no worries. She doesn't quite realized that she can not swim yet. Like I said, she thinks she can do anything Jayda does! Sydney is such a sweet little girl and we are so blessed to have her as our daughter. Happy 18 months miss Sydney!

A few pics of Sydney @ 18 months. And yes, I know she is down to her diaper in a lot of these pics, but it is HOT outside!

Playing outside together, sweet girls!

Little miss serious checking things out.

"Hahahaha!"

Sydney at the bowling alley with playgroup, and of course she had to have her "pesh" and "wawo".

"Peek-a-boo Aiden!" Sydney LOVES baby Aiden!

The girls trying to see and talk to the "dog-dog" next door.

Yesterday was the first time Sydney actually stayed in the barbie jeep with Jayda. She used to jump out as soon as Jayda would start to drive. She loved it this time, guess she is growing up!

Sydney this morning at her 18 month well check, what a BIG girl! She weighed in today at 22 lbs. 1 oz (25th percentile) and was 32 3/4 inches long (75th percentile). Little girly is becoming more long and lean these days and losing that baby fat, sweet girl!

Viva Las Vegas, and Oklahoma Too!

We have been gone the past few weekends so I thought I would do a quick post to update everyone. To start, 2 weekends ago we took a trip to Las Vegas, just me and Jacob. Huge thank you to Nana and Pawpaw (Jacob's parents), for taking care of the girls while we were gone!! Thanks also to Scott and Michelle for taking care of the pups, y'all are all awesome! We had a great time and met some of our awesome friends out there, Nick and Liz, and Greg and Lauren. We stayed for 3 nights and had a blast. It was so nice to get away on our own and enjoy time together. Not to mention, Vegas just has so many fun things to do! We went out to some nice dinners, saw a Cirque Du Soliel show, hung out at the pool, and of course did a little playing at the casinos. Jacob really likes to play craps, so we mostly played that and some blackjack.

The first night we got to Vegas we went out dinner with our best buddies, Greg and Lauren at a steakhouse inside of The Palms. Everything was delicious and it was great getting to catch up with our friends!

The boys at dinner!

The next day we walked around the strip for a while and found a place for dinner that night. We decided to make reservations at the Eifel Tower Restaraunt inside of the Paris hotel and casino. This restaraunt is directly across from the Bellagio, so we got to watch the Bellagio fountains go off while we ate dinner. It was an amazing view! We took some pics inside the restaraunt that afternoon when we made reservations becuase it was so pretty up there!

Greg and Lauren at the Eifel Tower Restaraunt with the fountains behind, beautiful!

After walking around the strip for a while we found this yummy cafe inside of the Bellagio to eat lunch at.

This picture was made completely out of flowers, so cool!

The BEST bellini I have ever had, it was SO good!

Yummo!!

On saturday night we went to see the show Mystere at Treasure Island. Mystere is the original Cirque Du Soliel that pretty much started it all, so it is completely amazing! We all loved every minute of it, and it was especially awesome since Lauren got us all tickets (and great seats) for FREE! Yay Lauren, you rock!

Jacob and I at Mystere.

Nick and Liz before the show.

Greg and Lauren at Mystere!

Mystere was an amazing show!! I would highly recommend this one!

After the show we were headed down to dinner and came across this little Elvis impersonator. We just had to stop for a picture, so funny! The boys could not stop laughing at us!

All 6 of us getting some drinks at The Mirage on the way to dinner.

This is where we had dinner at, awesome place!!

On sunday we went back down to the strip to check things out with Nick and Liz. Jacob and Nick had fun playing blackjack at the Flamingo casino.

Nick and Liz out in the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo hotel, what a cute picture!

Me and my hubby at the waterfall.

After playing blackjack for a bit we went to lunch at Margaritaville with Nick and Liz. The margaritas there were great, as excpected!

Yay for ritas!!

The girls all ready to go out for our last night! Yay!

All ready for our last night out!

This past weekend we took a trip up to Oklahoma to visit Jacob's grandparents, Mammaw and Papaw. We stayed for 3 nights up there and had a great time as always. While we were there we celebrated Mammaw's birthday, which was last thursday, with a yummy dinner and a delicious cake and ice cream. We had a great time with everyone and the girls loved getting attention from 4 grandparents at the same time! Big thank you to Oupa for taking such great care of Harley and Nina while we went away, they were spoiled to death and I'm sure not too happy about having to leave the grandparents, haha!

The girls wanted to go on a ride while we stopped at Sonic on our way up to Oklahoma. They thought this was so funny!

Singing Mammaw Happy Birthday!

Jayda took a ride on the horsey at Mammaw's store. She loved it!

Jacob and I took the girls to the gaming center in town and played a little glow in the dark bowling. The girls had so much fun, even Sydney loved it!

All of us while bowling!

The girls also rode in the little helicopter at the game center.

One last ride on the horsey at Mammaw's store before we had to leave. They loved riding it together and couldn't stop laughing! It was so cute!

Our last night there we went to the park by Mammaw and Papaw's house where the Kiwanas have a little train and carousel for kids to ride. Of course we had to do both and the girls had so much fun!

Going for a "riiiiiiiide!!" as Sydney would adamently say!
