A Few Pics!

Nothing too exciting to report this week, just more of the same. Definitely not a bad thing though. It is actually really nice to have a good routine for the girls and know what we are going to do each week. Jayda has been loving pre-k and learning so much. Now that she knows all of her letters/sounds etc. she is starting to spell out different words. It is so neat to see her learn new words and how to spell them, she is just taking so much in right now. Sydney and I have been having fun spending time together while big sister is gone to school so it has been really nice. This morning we met up with playgroup for Sydney to play with some friends. Most of the kiddos there are Jayda's friends but Sydney still had a ball and played with them like a big girl. Jayda is still playing soccer and doing much better. She seems to have really got the hang of it now and knows what to do with the ball, how to kick it around, and how to score. It has been so fun watching her practice and play at her games. She had another game this weekend and had more visitors come to cheer her on. Last week Oma and Oupa came to watch her game and this week Nana and Pawpaw and Auntie Justin and Uncle Lourdes came to watch. She loved having everyone there cheering for her and seemed to give her a lot more motivation to get the ball and score. She kept looking over to the sidelines and smiling so big. It was too cute! Sydney loves to ride her little horsey around the house. The other day she was riding around with nothing on but Jayda's dress up shoes and I thought it was too cute! She says "C'mon hoarse, mon hoarse, do-do", which means "Come on horse, go-go!" SO funny!


Jayda was super excited at soccer practice last week because she looked over and saw that daddy had made it to her soccer practice, YAY daddy!

Starting their 3rd soccer game. Jacob was their coach last week because their normal coach was out of town...too bad he knows absolutely nothing about soccer. Luckily he and the girls made it through the game, barely, haha. Jayda thought it was SO cool that her daddy was the coach for the day, don't know that daddy felt the same way. He did say that if she plays softball one day he'd be happy to coach her team, lol.

The girls met some of the Texans cheerleaders this weekend while we were eating dinner at Joe's Crabshack. Jayda thought they were so cool and they even gave her an autographed picture of the entire squad. She was super excited!

Sisters

I wanted to do a quick little post about my sweet girls and their sisterly love for one another. Now that Sydney is getting a little older, communicating more, interacting and playing more, she and Jayda are having so much fun together. They do everything together and Sydney admires Jayda SO much. I think Jayda must have some sort of spell on Sydney because whatever she tells Sydney to do or say, Sydney does it! I guess that's just called having a big sister. It is actually pretty funny. Jayda will ask Sydney for something, like a toy, and she will tell Sydney "say sure Sydney" and Sydney will say "sure" and hand it to her. It is amazing! I'm sure one of these days she will start fighting back and saying "no way" but for now it all works out. Sometimes Sydney does say no and she can hold her own when she wants to and that is pretty funny too because she is such a tiny little thing but she will let you know if she doesn't want to do something. Oh, and Sydney totally thinks she is such a big girl. I really believe she thinks she's 4 years old too. She tries to do everything that Jayda does and copies every.single.thing. It seems like Sydney has grown up so much faster than Jayda did because she has her big sister around to learn from. They love to hide together all over the house. Some of their favorite spots are under the dining room table, under the bar in the breakfast area, in the pantry, behind their play kitchen in the playroom, behind the little blue chair in the playroom, in my closet under daddy's dress pants just to name a few. Sometimes they will play hide and seek together or separately and sometimes they just hide from me to be funny. I can usually find them pretty quickly these days. They love each other SO much! It amazes me what a strong bond they already have at this early of an age. It is no surprise since the first time Jayda saw Sydney she held her and hugged her for about 10 mintues straight and would not let go. Jayda was in love with her from the moment she met her. Jayda has always taken care of Sydney and loved her to death and Sydney knows that for sure. Anytime Sydney needs or wants anything Jayda will be the first one to take care of her, such sweet sisters!

2-11-10, First time they met.


Lately they have been doing a little more running around the house together and being very loud and crazy. They get out Sydney's little push toys with wheels and push each other around the house yelling and screaming and bumping in to things. I feel like I'm constantly saying "Calm down girls, too loud!" Can't imagine what it would be like with boys! They have a ball together though that is for sure. They also like to get into weird things together and run around. One of Jayda's favorites right now is Sydney's crib sheet. They pretend that is their "house" and they both get in the sheet and walk, or trip and fall, around the house. They also like to do this with blankets. Jayda thinks it is really funny to pull Sydney around on the blanket and Sydney just laughs and laughs. Another one is the hoola hoop. They get into the hoola hoop together and run around all over the house being silly. It is so funny to watch them and see the things that they come up with together. More recently they have started playing post office. Sydney goes into the playroom and shuts the doors and Jayda delivers her "mail", aka magazines from the kitchen, through the slot in the double doors of the playroom. Then Sydney opens up the door and says "book, book" so Jayda gets the old magazine from Sydney and runs full speed to the kitchen to get a new magazine for her. Pretty funny to watch. Another favorite thing they like to do is pretend to drive the "car" together, which happens to be our little entry way table that is up against the wall. They both crawl under the table and each sit down on the bottom bar. Jayda gets the keys to drive the car and they drive to all kinds of places, the grandparents house, sonic, heb etc. Too cute! It is so nice that they have one another play with and don't constantly bother me all the time. I remember when Jayda was little she always wanted me to play with her. Now she has Sydney to play with so it has been SO nice! We definitely have our days when things don't go so well, or they aren't so nice to one another, or they both decide to have a fit and cry at the same time, but for the most part they have a blast together and I love every minute of it. Last week at school Jayda busted up her knee on the playground. That night when it was time for bath Jayda did not want to get in the tub because she was worried her knee would burn in the water, which I understood. She kept crying and crying saying she didn't want to take a bath and on and on so I had to do some adjusting to bath time that night and we finally got everybody bathed. The crazy thing is that Sydney starting crying in sympathy for Jayda. I had never seen her do this. And I'm not just talking a little whiny cry, I'm talking full out boo-hooing tears flowing down her face like something was really wrong with her. She felt so bad for Jayda hurting and crying that she got really upset. It was the sweetest and most sad thing ever. I even started crying because I felt so bad that Sydney was crying for her sister, so there we all were. All 3 of us, myself and 2 little wet naked jaybirds, huddled together hugging and crying in the bathtub. Now that is what I call sisterly love! I could go on and on about the 2 of them together, and I'm sure I will have many more stories to tell, but for now it's time to get little sister up from nap so that we can go pick up big sister from school. Oh, and did I mention how much I LOVE raising 2 little sisters?!

They like to both frown and/or run away when mommy ask them to take a picture. They think it's funny to drive mommy crazy. I thought they looked so cute together the other morning before church with their matching dresses and twinkle toes, but I guess they weren't feeling it so much.


Now that Jayda is playing soccer, guess who else wants to play also?

Hard to see Jayda in this picture, but this was her scoring her first goal in her 2nd soccer game. She got tripped up a bit but got right back up and scored a goal. She scored 3 of the 4 goals that her team made in their 2nd game. Yay!

First Soccer Game!

Jayda had her first soccer game last saturday and she did an awesome job! She stayed so positive through the whole game and always was willing to play when some of the other little girls didn't want to. One of her teammates started crying as soon as the other team scored their first goal and literally cried on the sidelines for the ENTIRE game! Another little girl got very frustrated when she couldn't score a goal so she went out and pouted on the sidelines. And another one of her teammates was just plain too tired to play so she had to sit out. My little trooper played almost the entire game and never complained once about not scoring, being too hot or tired or whatever, that's my girl! Jacob and I were SO proud of her, and yes she even did score a goal! I think I was yelling very loud at that point, oh well just couldn't help it. She really seems to like soccer a lot and I love that she has such a good attitude about it. I think she is going to have a lot of fun this soccer season, and mommy and daddy love watching and cheering her on too!

After Jayda's soccer game last saturday we headed to Austin for my sweet friend Melissa's wedding. Her wedding was gorgeous and she looked beautiful! We had lots of fun at the reception catching up with old friends and hanging out together. My parents also met us in Austin for the wedding. I didn't get very many pictures, but did manage to take a few.

On sunday we headed out to do some fun things in Austin while we were in town. We went to Zilker Park that morning and let the girls play on the playgrounds and check out the water.

Jayda was SO excited to find Zippy the clown out the park, and he even made balloons, wow!


Zippy made her a flower and she LOVED it!


Zippy gave Sydney a little Winnie the Pooh balloon, they were both so excited!


Daddy thought it would be fun for us to rent a canoe and paddle around Town Lake. It turned out to be pretty fun and Sydney loved hanging her feet over the edge and feeling the water. Jayda was a bit scared of the algae in the water so she cried all the way back to the dock once we turned around. Fun stuff!


My mom walked along the water with us and took some cool pictures. This is a neat one from up above. We are one of the canoes in the middle of the water.


Love this picture. Sydney was loving it and Jayda hated it. Kinda funnny because Jayda was the one wanting to go on a boat ride.


I took this picture the other morning while the girls were dancing to the song "Should've Been a Cowboy". Jayda ran to get her cowboy hat (a little small for her now) so naturally Sydney had to have a hat too. She came back with Jayda's baseball hat and they both danced and sang together, too funny!


Yesterday morning Sydney and I went back to the park to feed the ducks and turtles. She's saying "Heeeere duck-duck, duck-duckk!!"


They weren't really coming to her so she figured she chase after them to give them her "nak-naks".


The baby ducks weren't too excited about the food so we went back over by the pond to feed the big ducks and they loved her snacks. So did all the turtles and fish that swarmed around her. She loved it!
