Meet Miss Daisy!

Last saturday we made a new addition to the Paschal family!  We got a mini dauschand puppy.  She was 8 weeks old and we named her Daisy!  The girls have always wanted a small lap dog to keep inside, so we decided to take the plunge and go for it!  She is the sweetest little puppy ever and we all love her so much!  We didn't know before we picked her up that she had one blue eye and one brown eye, but once we found out we knew it was meant to be.  Since Sydney has blue eyes and Jayda has brown eyes it just seemed fitting.  The girls were SO excited to pick her up and still cannot get enough of her.  They both love to hold her and play with her all of the time.  Jayda has even been waking up early in the mornings for school to play with Daisy.  Before we got her I had to drag her out of bed for school, so that has been a nice change.  It's been nice for Sydney to have some alone time with her too while Jayda is at school.  Once Jayda gets home she hardly puts her down!  She's been doing really well going to the bathroom outside and sleeping at night.  Of course she has accidents, but we just try to watch her at all times.  The first few nights she woke up around 2 or 3:00 a.m. to go to the bathroom, but the past few nights she's been sleeping until 5 or 6:00 a.m. before waking up so that's been great!  Jacob and I try to stay up with her after the girls go to sleep for a while and get her energy out so that she's worn out and ready for bed at night.  She sleeps in her kennel very well and doesn't whine until she needs to go potty.  We have had so much fun with her the past week.  Although we are a little (or maybe a lot) crazy for getting a puppy just 3 months before having a baby, I really feel like it was meant to be and she has fit right into our little family!

Jayda was so excited to get Daisy!!

On the way home with Daisy!

First night home with the pup.

Loving on Daisy.

Sweet girls telling Daisy good night.

She loves her little doggy bed.

Hungry baby!

And she's all worn out!  She usually lasts about an hour before she has to take a little nap.

Good morning Daisy!

She fell asleep in Jacob's lap the first night home.  So sweet!

Sydney loves to get in her bed and read her books.

Sweet puppy sleeping in her bed.

Sydney is so good about holding her little bones for her so she can teethe on them.

Walking Daisy to school with us for the first time.  Jayda loves this!

And Sydney was so excited to go home and play with her alone!

"Come here Daisy."

She loves taking Daisy to shcool with her!

I was trying to get Sydney's picture at the park the other day and she wanted no part of it.

Gotcha!

We took the scooters to the park last week and the girls had a blast.

Woo-hoo!

Last weekend we took a quick family trip to the zoo.  The girls love watching the sea lions!

Jayda has always wanted to do the pedal boats at the zoo but we never have.  She finally convinced us last weekend!

Pedal boating around the pond at the zoo.  It was pretty fun until Jacob decided to drive under the large fountain in the middle of the pond and completely drench us with water.  I especially got soaked since I wasn't really under the canopy!  We did have fun though and the water felt kinda nice because it was actually pretty hot out.

Fresh Paint!

Jayda's 2nd day of Kindergarten!

Her first homework assignment...and she was even excited about it!
Over Labor Day weekend Jacob and my mom were super sweet and painted Jayda's room and the baby room.  We were planning to do the baby room, and decided to go ahead and paint Jayda's room too since we were never a big fan of the princess mural on the wall from the previous owners.  Jayda said she wanted her room to be blue (her favorite color) and have horses in it.

Bye-bye princess, woo-hoo!!

Ta-dah!!  She got her blue room!  She wanted the entire room to be the dark blue color, but Jacob and I thought that would be a bit much.  We liked the light blue color.  So, we decided to  comprimise and painted an accent wall dark blue and the rest of the walls light blue.  We added in a dark pink stripe around the room to make it a little more feminine.
I think it turned out beautiful, and she loves it too!

We found the "pretty horses" bed spread at Target, along with the horse painting and wall decals.
I think it brought everything together very nicely.

Jayda's vanity in her new blue room.

Love this wall with all the horses and her name!
Then we moved on to paint the baby's room...we still haven't decided on a name yet, so we just call her the baby.  Her room used to be the guest room, so over the summer I spent many hours cleaning out everything that was piled in there and the closet.  Huge thanks to my dad, Suzie, Cole and Caitlyn for all pitching in over the summer and helping me get everything cleaned out!  It was a lot of work!  Once everything was taken out Jacob moved the crib into the baby room and that's when we put Sydney in the toddler bed.  This room used to be an ugly peach color that I could not stand, so I was very happy to paint over it!  It's hard to tell the color in this picture.

Goodbye ugly peach room!

Hello pretty purple nursery!  We went with a darker purple accent wall and painted the rest a very light shade of purple.  Jacob and my Mom did a fabulous job again and it turned out great!  Thank you both for all of your hardwork!!

Sydney's room did not need any painting since hers was painted just a few years ago when she was born.  However, she was in need of a new toddler bed spread.  Here she is in her big girl bed with her new owl comforter set.  She loves her new bed!

Giving Minnie Mouse kisses.  She sleeps with Minnie every night!

On Labor Day we, or should I say Jacob, took the girls ice skating at a local ice rink here in town.  I couldn't participate but I did have lots of fun watching them skate all around.  Jacob was a trooper and skated with Sydney the whole time which was not an easy task.  He had to hold her up while she skated so it was quite the workout for daddy!  They had a blast though and didn't want to leave!

Sweet girls ready to ice skate, yay!

Jayda was loving it.  I think she was trying to be a speed skater or something.
She skated/ran around the rink the entire time we were there.

Daddy skating with Sydney.  Sydney kept saying she wanted to do all the twists that the big girls
in the middle of the rink were doing.  Too bad you have to be 4 to take ice skating lessons, maybe one day.

Last weekend we took a quick trip up to Huntsville to visit the grandparents.  I also got to visit Andrea's new baby, little Sam, and he was SO sweet.  It was a nice little weekend gettaway!

Sydney loves to drive the 4 wheeler with Pawpaw!

The girls going for a ride with daddy.  So sweet.

Jayda always wants to give Emma Lou treats.  And Emma loves them too!

Sydney likes to feed her carrots.

And they got to ride on her for just a little bit.
