Summer 2013 Adventures & Avery Mae at 6 Months!

Wow.  I did not realize how much time has passed since my last post and how much we have done already this summer!  Our summer started off a bit rough to say the least.  We had several rounds of pink eye (boo, that stuff is so not fun and does NOT go away!), a couple double ear infections, and strep throat for the big girls.  It took about a month for everyone to get well, but once they did we've been going non stop ever since.

I was a little worried about how the summer would go having all 3 at home for an extended amount of time, but it really hasn't been so bad.  I'm honestly just so happy that they're not sick I can't complain about anything else.  We've been swimming at the pool nearly everyday and going on little weekend adventures.  It's really been a ton of fun and the girls are actually getting along for the most part, which is surprising.  I figured they'd fight all summer long.  They do get into little fights here and there, but for the most part they've been enjoying each others company.  They like to play outside on the trampoline, with the water hose of course.  Or, in the front yard in the sprinklers.  They've also been having lots of popcorn and movie dates in the living room and like reading books together.  Playing with Avery has also been super fun for them now that she's getting a little bigger.

Jayda has been a huge help to me with Avery.  She picks her up when she's crying and I can't get to her.  She gets her out to the car for me when it's time for us to leave and takes her out of the car seat when we get home.  She gets her paci when she's crying and toys for her when she wants to play.  Jayda holds Avery all the time, but if Avery spits up she always gives her right back to me and has to go wash it off immediately.  Sometimes she even takes a bath after she gets spit up on her and says "I'm about to throw up, I'm about to throw up!!"  It's pretty hilarious.  I seriously don't know what I'm going to do without my "little mama" when she goes back to school in the fall. :(  It's so sweet too to see Jayda and Avery bonding so much.  Sydney had a lot of time with Avery while Jayda was in school, so it's been nice for Jayda to get a turn with the little "baby boo/mamacita/hunnybun/pumpkin pie" (we have lots of nicknames for her).  Jayda will definitely be a wonderful mommy one day.  She is so caring and nurturing and has such a compassionate little soul.  I love that little girl so much!

Over Memorial Day weekend we went out to a place called "Jellystone Park" in Waller near my parents farm.  It's actually a campground and has several pools, put-put golf and all sorts of fun activities for the kids.  We just went for the day and played in the fun pools.  They had a few really big slides that Jayda could do so she loved that.  Sydney did the smaller ones and had a great time too!  It was lots of fun and we'll definitely have to go back.
Little munchkin dipping her feet in.  She was loving the water!

Our little family by the big slides.

Avery hanging out with Oupa poolside.

Daddy and his baby!

Sydney did these slides over and over for hours!

Avery loves to blow bubbles and play on the floor.

My three little ladybugs.

We went over to Maddens house one afternoon after swim practice to play on their super fun waterslide.

Sydney going backwards into the water.  Silly girls!

Daddy came home from work one night just before the girls were going to bed and they fixed him all up!
They love playing dress up and doing peoples hair and nails.

Jayda actually painted Jacob's toes and then was drying them.

And this is what happens when you're the baby.  Sydney, not pictured, is laughing hysterically next to the stroller. :)

The girls did a 1 mile fun run to raise money for the tornado victims in Oklahoma.  They both made it all the way and were so proud.

Sweet sister hung out in the jogging stroller with mommy during the run. :)

All done, yay!  Sweet girl came down with pink eye for the 2nd time after the race.

Jayda's swim team picture at the kickoff party.  Go Tarpons!!

Sydney and Avery enjoying the swings at the park on Jayda's last day of school.

Splash park fun!

It looks like she's waving in this picture, too cute.

The girls wanted to set up a chip stand in the driveway.  They are so silly.

Jayda woke up to this on her last day of kindergarten.

Giving one of her favorite 5th graders a hug on the last day of school.  Jayda was so sad!

Walking home on the last day.  And, right after this I found it that she and Sydney both had strep throat!  Aaaahhh!

After a few days of antibiotics we went out for a fun little lunch.  It was so nice to get out of the house!

Jayda's first swim meet of the summer.

Hanging out with her buddy on the ready bench.

And they got 2nd on their first relay swim.  Go girls!

These two little ones go running with me most mornings while Jayda is at swim practice.

Having fun at the pool with my girls!

Avery's new "granny with no teeth" face as we like to call it.  She makes this
face all the time and it just cracks me up everytime!

Happy baby on her 6 month birthday heading to get pictures done!

Can't believe our sweet Avery Mae is already 6 months old!  She is SUCH a happy baby.

"What are you doing Mom?  More pictures?  Really, I mean come on??"

"Well I'm outta here then!"

"See ya later Mommy!"

"And I really don't like this sticker you keep putting on me.  Can you take it off?!"

Avery turned 6 months old on June 14th, so we went to get her pictures taken.  Even after waiting over an hour, she was still happy and smiling for her pics.  It didn't hurt that both big sisters were standing right in front of her making her laugh. :)  Thank goodness for those two super sweet loving, funny, silly, crazy girls!

Avery is such a good baby girl.  It's hard to believe that she's already been with us for half of a year.  It seems like she's always been a part of our lives.  She fits in so perfectly with our family, I couldn't imagine her any other way!  Avery loves her family so much and smiles at all of us all the time.  The girls and I make her laugh constantly and her little toothless grins are the cutest thing ever!  And, her little cackle makes me smile everytime I hear it.  She is still rolling over, but has started staying in the same spot and playing with her toys instead of steam rolling across the carpet everytime you put her on the floor. :)  She loves to chew on her toys and hold them.  She has the fastest little hands and will grab things without anyone even noticing.  She pulls stuff off of the refridgerator all the time when I'm walking by, grabs my sunglasses and jewelry, pulls the girls hair while they're not looking and will even snatch things off of the counter if you aren't paying attention.  She is so quick!  Avery even started talking a few weeks ago, right around the time she turned 6 months old.  Her first words were "da,da,da,da,da" just like the other two girls. Now she can also say "ya,ya,ya,ya", "ma,ma,ma,ma,ma", and "na,na,na,na".  She is so cute too because once she figures out a new sound she says it constantly for several days until she realizes she can say something else.  She said da-da for a long time and I kept trying to get her to say ma-ma.  Then, I started hearing Sydney say to her "That's enough of da-da-da-da Avery, you need to say ma-ma!!!"  It cracked me up!  Avery has even started sitting up on her own within the past week, and she loves it!  She thinks she is a big girl sitting up and just smiles and plays with her toys.  She still needs a little help sometimes because she will roll forward or fling herself backwards, but she's doing really good so far.  She has been eating like a champ.  She usually eats at least 2 meals a day at lunch and dinner, and sometimes I give her a little breakfast.  Right now I've been giving her a little yogurt, some sort of oatmeal or cereal, and one fruit and one veggie for each meal.  She seems to like pretty much everything I feed her so that's been really nice.  Her digestive system seems to be adjusting to the food still so I'm hoping that all of that gets worked out sooner rather than later.  I'm thankful that she's a good eater though, hopefully that will continue!  We are so blessed to have you in our lives and we love you so much miss Avery Mae Paschal!  Muah!

On Father's Day Jacob wanted to take the boat out, so naturally that is what we did.  We had such a fun day.  My Dad came too so that made it extra special.  Jacob and I both got to wakeboard and the girls had lots of fun swimming in the lake as usual.  We took a picnic lunch out to the island and sat underneath a shade tree to eat.  The girls played on the beach with some friends they made and had a blast!  And, thank you SO much to Oma for watching Avery for us so we that we could have such a fun Father's Day!

Time for a boat ride!

Jacob and Oupa cruising arond in the boat.

Daisy found her a safe little spot underneath Jacob's seat.

But, then migrated up to Oupa.

I finally got to wakeboard and had so much fun!  It's so much better to go out on the boat now that I can actually do stuff!

Jacob had fun wakeboarding too!

Miss Jayda fell asleep on the way back to the marina.  The boat always puts these girls to sleep!

We went to get frozen yogurt after being on the lake all day.  It was so yummy and cold, just perfect!

Jacob and Oupa on Father's Day.  Such a great day!

Jacob opening up his Father's Day gifts from the girls.

Jayda's 2nd swim meet.  Getting ready to dive in for the relay.

About to dive in!

And she's off!

Sweet girls got 3rd place, woo-hoo!  They swam hard!

And she got 2nd in the individual freestyle!

This crazy little thing loves to wear big sister's swim cap all the time!  She loves playing outside in the sprinklers too!

My happy little baby girl.  Love this sweet smile!

Last week Jayda got the "hardest worker" award at swim practice.  She was so proud, and so were we!  A couple of times last week she did 2 practices per day just because she wanted to. :)

Avery has decided that she doesn't really like the pool, but that she does like to chew on sisters goggles outside of the pool while Mommy holds her.  This is not good considering we go to the pool all the time!

Last weekend we went with Oma and Oupa to La Toretta on Lake Conroe.  It's a super nice resort and has lots of fun activities for the kids!  They have several pools there, lots of slides and even a lazy river.  The girls pretty much lived in the pools for the weekend.  It was so much fun!

All the fun pools there!

Swimsuit on and ready to get wet!

Hanging with big sister in the baby pool.  LOVE this picture of them!

Splish splashing in the little water fountain.

Miss priss wanted me to take her picture before swim meet #3 started.

Relay time!

And they got 2nd place, YAY girls!  They must have gotten their fastest time yet!

Ready for her individual freestyle.

All her hardwork paid off because she finally got her first blue ribbon of the summer in freestyle!  She was SO excited and could not stop smiling.  She has been wanting to get first place since the first swim meet!  And later in the week I found out that she cut 5 seconds off of her freestyle.  I was so happy for her!

Miss first place, look out!

Avery Mae started sitting up over the weekend while we were at La Toretta. She still needs a little support but can pretty much do it on her own.  She loves to sit up and play with her toys and looks like such a big girl now!

And big sister just has to sit in the bumbo all the time.  Such a little monkey!
Whew, hopefully my next post will not be nearly this long!  That was a lot to catch up on! :)

You did well catching up...kept wondering when you were going to update it. Glad you'll had a good time at La Torretta. It was nice to get away from work for a couple of days. You got some good pictures of all three girls.

Love,
Mom
