Springtime Fun!

Well besides all of the pollen, allergies, colds, runny noses, sinus infections, coughs, doctors visits, and humidifiers that we have been dealing with now that spring has sprung, we have managed to fit in a little bit of fun too!

A few weeks ago I found Sydney some super cute tennis shoes at Payless on sale for only $5! Yay, I was so excited since she didn't have any tennis shoes to fit her. I put them on her the other day for the first time and she loved them! She walked all over the house modeling them and now wears them pretty much everytime we go out of the house.

Sydney with her new kicks on and holding the shoebox top. She kept wanting to carry it around the house.

"Can we go yet mommy?"

"No really mommy, I'm ready to GO!"

"This way....Ok, I'm leaving!"

Last week we went to Jacob's first softball game of the season. The girls love watching, and cheering on, their daddy at the game. And, they love playing on the hill right next to the softball field (probably more than watching the game). It is so funny to hear the girls yelling for Jacob. Jayda yells very loudly "GOOOOOOO DADDYYYYY!!!!" and Sydney just says "DAAADAAAA, DAAAADAAA!!" Pretty darn cute!

Jayda watching Jacob through the fence getting ready to bat.

Jayda still watching Jacob and Sydney looking around with no idea what is going on. She'll get the hang of it soon.

I actually bought this little UT hat for an auction up at Jayda's pre-school, but I had to try it on Sydney first. She looked hilarious in it, and she loved it. I'd actually wished I had bought her one too! She loves wearing hats, and taking them on and off. Maybe because she sees daddy wear hats all the time.

"Where'd Sydney go??"

"There she is!"

Last weekend we went to The Woodlands to celebrate cousin Cecilia's 3rd birthday. The girls had a lot of fun playing with their cousins and celebrating with lots of cake and jumping in the bounce house. So glad we were able to be there!

Sydney having fun at Ceci's party watching the puppet show!

Jayda and cousin Molly helping Ceci open her birthday presents. So fun!

Earlier this week me and the girls were heading out the door to the park and it started raining. They were both so excited to get out and play, so they were super disappointed when we had to turn right back around in the driveway and come in. So, I decided to bring the bounce house inside so that the girls could jump around and get some of their energy out. Sydney had lots of fun, but Jayda for some reason didn't do much of anything. She had been complaining that her stomach was hurting, so maybe that was why she wasn't too enthusiastic about the bounce house.

Sydney loved throwing the balls around the bounce house and Jayda did not want to play, or get her picture taken.

Woo-hoo!!

Still not into playing. This is very unusual for miss Jayda!

And, as you can see little Sydney scraped up her little nose outside on the driveway when we had to come back in from the rain. Not real sure how she tumbled over, but she did and landed on her nose. It is looking much better now. Poor little thing!

Riley came over to play with Jayda the other day and little miss thing just had to get up on the couch to see what was going on. Yep, just climbed right on up all by herself! She wants to be in the middle of everything Jayda does. I think it's pretty cute, but Jayda doesn't always think it's too funny. Luckily she does share very well with Sydney and is very sweet to her most of the time.

And there she is, sitting up on the couch like a big girl.

"Whatcha' doing over here Jayda? Can I see?"

Girls Easter Pics!

This morning I took the girls to our favorite, Portrait Innovations, to get their Easter pictures made. Jayda did great and gave lots of smiles, but Sydney did not do so good. It seems impossible to have both kids in a good mood and smiley for pictures. Guess that is just part of it! We ended up getting some pretty cute ones anyway. Huge thank you to Oma for getting the girls these adorable outfits. They look so cute in them and Jayda loves her frilly outfit! Thank you also to Michelle for making the girls matching hair bows. They turned out so cute! Jayda is 3 & 3/4 years old and Sydney is 13 months old in these pictures.

This is totally Sydney's expression!

Sweet picture of them together in their Easter dresses.

LOVE this picture of Jayda!!

Another super sweet pic of Jayda with her puppy dog Missy.

This one is funny of Sydney. Think she was looking back at me wondering if it was ok to touch the chicks.

Favorite of them together! It's not cropped yet...

Sydney was DONE!

And that's a wrap!

Sydney's New Life Celebration!

This past sunday we had the New Life Celebration for Sydney at church. We are a little late doing this as we missed the first one after her birth, but it all went great anyway. At our church we celebrate the little babies once they are born and the parents commit to raising their children in a Godly way by following Christ, seeking His guidance in parenting, reading them the bible, bringing them to church, and raising them in a Christian envrironment. Then, once they get older and learn about God through his word, parents, and church they decide on their own when they are ready to be baptized. Usually the childs father or youth minister baptizes the child during a ceremony at church through immersion in water. I am very much looking forward to that day for both of our girls!

Sydney all ready for church and playing with the phone.

Love this picture! Sydney is saying "NO Jayda, I want to sit all. by. myself!!"

Such a sweet picture of big sister. Love it!

Looking over into the water fountain, so cute!

Thought this was cute of them both looking into the fountain.

Little munchkins sitting in church together.

Jacob introducting Sydney to the church.

On sunday evening we ran the girls up to the neighborhood splash park to play in the water for a bit. It just opened up and since it was closed all last summer, we were very excited to see it back up and running again finally! We will be spending a lot of time here in the coming months as it gets hotter and hotter!

The girls were SO excited that the splash park is open!!

Yay for water!

Sydney was having so much fun playing in the water. This was her first time to play at a splash park so we weren't too sure if she would like it or not. Turns out she loves it just like her big sister!

So happy!

Silly Girls!

So the girls favorite thing to do right now is to climb into my kitchen cabinets and play, hide, bang on the pots and pans, close each other in, and really just be quite crazy. They are pretty hilarious so I had to get some funny pictures of them in action. Sydney is usually the first one to get in, and then Jayda quickly follows suit. Sydney has been quite the little munchkin lately! She also likes to try and stand up on the oven handle (bottom part where the sliding drawer is) so she can see what's going on up on the stove. Yah, not a good idea little one! She had to get her first spanking for doing this over and over after being told no several times! I'm blaming it on her age. It's a little early for the terrible 2's, but I think she is just trying to test me and see what she can get away with. Sydney has started talking more lately. Just this week she started saying a lot more words and copying almost everything you say. She is saying Jayda's name very well. It sounds like "Taaaaaay-duh". Literally, she draws out the first syllable for a long time, it is SO cute! Sydney is really getting into animal names and what the animals say, and body parts, like nose, mouth and eyes. Mouth seems to be her favorite. She says "mou" for mouth all the time while pointing at hers. She just started pointing at her baby doll's eyes today and said "eh".

As for Jayda, she seems to be finally realizing that it is better to try and please mommy than do the opposite of what mommy says all the time. Wow, what a miracle!!! Maybe we are finally starting to come out of the terrible 2's?? Too bad the other one is about to hit them! Jayda has been acting very sweet lately. She is always making us little notes with our "names" written in it. She also just recently started picking up the playroom for me, without me even asking! And, not just picking up one or two things, she cleans everything up and puts it all where it belongs! I was so happy and proud of her when she did this for me the other day. It is such a nice change of pace with her!

Playing around in the kitchen cabinets!

Sydney loves playing with daddy's old phone. She calls daddy on it all the time!

Being silly and chewing on her baby doll's brush.

Looking out the window waiting for daddy to get home. What a sweet girl!

And there she goes again!

All 3 girls being silly together!

In the cabinets! This time Sydney figured out how to get up on the shelf!
