Fun times in the Summertime!

We have been busy little bees lately playing at lots of waterparks, visiting friends, and hanging out at home! The weekend before last Jacob and I took Jayda to Schlitterbahn in Galveston. She had SO much fun there! There were lots of toddler/kid friendly areas with little slides and activities so it was great. Jacob and I had a ton of fun. They even had shaded areas with fans to eat your picnic lunch under. It was so nice!

Playing around the house in Ri-ri's car. Thanks Ri-ri for letting us borrow it!!

Sliding all by herself!

Last Tuesday Jayda and I left home to visit our law school friends Joe, Sara and Elizabeth. They live just south of Ft. Worth. Elizabeth is about 6 months younger than Jayda, so the girls had a blast together! On tuesday evening we took the girls to their neighborhood pool and they had a ton of fun playing. Wednesday we drove up north of Fort Worth a little to NRH20. It is the coolest waterpark ever! The had big slides, little slides, pools, lazy rivers, wave pools, beach volleyball, plus lots more! It was kind of like a mini splashtown, but much nicer! There were tons of kid friendly slides so Jayda was in heaven! The girls played so hard and had so much fun! Jayda got so tired she fell asleep on my shoulder as we left the waterpark walking out to our car. So much fun!!!

Going down the slide. She did this up and down thing 100 times at least!

Awesome waterpark! This was the coolest kids waterparks I've ever seen!!

On wednesday night we all headed to Arlington to meet up with Jude and Lindsay at Joe's Crabshack for dinner. The restaraunt was right next to the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, so that was really cool to see. It was HUGE!! Dinner was great and Jayda loved how the waiters sang and danced. She was dancing right along with them. Elizabeth and Jayda had a blast being crazy at dinner, but it was a great place for kids since it was loud and crazy in there anyway. After dinner we let the girls play outside on the playground which they loved!

Trying to take a picture with Jude and Lindsay after dinner, but Jayda didn't really want to have any part of it, little stinker!

We woke up thursday morning, got our stuff packed up and headed back home! Thanks so much for opening y'alls house up to us Joe and Sara! We had so much fun!!

Good morning sunshines!!!

On friday we met Jayda's buddy Keirsten at the splashpark by our house. The girls had so much fun playing together! We stayed for over 2 hours!

Naked bootys!!!

These girls LOVE to be naked!

On saturday Jayda came down with some sort of bug and ran a high fever most of saturday. By sunday it was just a low grade fever, but she still wasn't quite herself. She seems to be feeling better today and still has a low grade fever. So, we didn't get to do anything fun this weekend, besides watch Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who about 1 million times, eat lots of popcorn and popsicles, play boardgames and lay around. Whatever it takes to get little missy all ready and geared up for her big birthday bash this saturday!! I can't believe she is going to be 2 years old this friday! It is so crazy! Pictures of the party will be posted next week for sure! Hope y'all have a great week!

July the 4th, Jacob's Birthday, and Some More!

A week ago last monday Michelle and Riley invited us over for a pool party at Michelle's mom's house. We had so much fun swimming in the pool, sliding down the slide, and eating homemade corndogs, cookies, and popsicles! We were so glad to get to spend a little bit more time with Michelle and Ri-ri before they headed back to Washington. We miss you guys so much!!

Jayda and Riley playing at Riley's Nana's pool, so fun!

Sliding down the sliiiiiide! She only did that, oh about 100 times!!

Jayda and Riley eating their popsicles together, sweet girls!

Then, last wednesday was my friend Tara's birthday. We met Tara and Keirsten at the park so that the girls could play, eat cupcakes and celebrate.

Last friday my mom had off work for the holiday weekend so she came down to our house to hang out. Friday afternoon Jayda painted Jacob's picture frames for his birthday and friday night Jacob, Oma and Jayda went swimming at the pool.

On the 4th of July we headed to huntsville to hangout with family. We had fun visiting with everyone and went to get Dairy Queen ice cream that afternoon, yummy! Saturday evening everyone came over and we grilled hotdogs and hamburgers and went to watch the fireworks show in Huntsville.

All of us going out do Jayda's favorite thing, ride the 4 wheeler!

On sunday we had a birthday party for Jacob and asked all of our family to come over. We grilled shrimp and chicken and made pasta with alfredo sauce and corn on the cob. Jacob's favorite meal is shrimp fettucine alfredo, so I thought it would be fun to make that for him. We also made his 3 favorite cakes: angel food cake, lemon cake, and cookie cake. Everyhthing turned out so good even though it took a bit longer to make everything than we'd anticipated. Thanks to everyone that helped with all of the cooking! Needless to say, he got a little spoiled for his birthday. He also got a bunch of neat gifts from everyone so that was really cool!

Jacob's birthday feast that we labored over all day, literally!

Jacob's birthday cake. It didn't end up looking quite the way I was hoping, but it sure tasted delicious!

On monday, July 6th, which was Jacob's real birthday Jayda and I met him for dinner at Gringos. The food was soooo good. We'd never been there before, but had heard it was good. I would definitely recommend it. They even had an ice cream machine, that's always a big plus in my books!

Looking out the window for daddy on his actual birthday. "No Jayda, we have to go bye-bye to meet daddy at dinner, he's not coming home right now!"

Yay for Jacob's birthday dinner at Gringos, it was so good!

Yummy cheeeeeese, Jayda's favorite food, can ya tell??

Summer Fun + A Whole Buncha' Pictures!

We have been staying pretty busy around here lately and having a lot of fun! We had a great Father's Day in Huntsville. Jayda stayed the weekend with the grandparents and Jacob and I drove up on Sunday morning and had lunch with my parents and then went to Jacob's parents for dinner. On sunday night Michelle and Riley came to Sugar Land for a visit since they're in TX for 10 days. It was SO much fun getting to see them, catch up, and the girls had an absolute ball together. Everytime they'd get together Michelle and I could hardly even hear each other talk because they were so loud together. We can not WAIT for them to get back for good in October! Jayda will get to play with Ri-ri one more time on Monday at a pool party, so that should be a ton of fun! The rest of the week Jayda and I relaxed and went to the splash park and the new playground/ sand volleyball court. They just built a big new park about 10 min. walking distance from our house and it's really neat. It has a huge sand volleyball court and Jayda loves to play in the sand with all of her toys. Jacob and I had fun tyring to play some volleyball. We're going to have play with a real volleyball next time because Jayda's little ball didn't work so well. Yesterday Jayda headed off the grandparents house again. She is having a blast at Nanna and Pawpaw's house right now and she'll head to Oma and Oupa's house tomorrow afternoon until Monday. My mom is bringing her to the pool party Monday and I'll meet them there.

The ice cream truck just started coming by our house and Jayda gets SO excited about it!

Jayda's first time to get ice cream from the ice cream truck!

Of course once she saw Jacob's ice cream sandwich she didn't want her popsicle anymore, she just wanted to lick the ice cream out of his sandwich!

Jayda was trying to help out the dead grass around the splash park by pouring water on it, don't think that's gonna do much honey!

Daddy and Jayda taking a bath together. She loved dumping water on his head over and over!

We gave Jacob his Father's Day gifts/goodies a little early on Thursday night. I made the cookies early, so he thought since he got cookies, he should be able to open his present early too. He was super excited about the new GPS and uses it everywhere he goes (maybe a bit much, haha.)

All of our gifts for daddy: A card from Jayda, sugar cookies with sprinkles, and a new GPS system!

In Huntsville to celebrate Father's Day with our Dad's. Thank y'all both for being such amazing dads, and grandpas, we love y'all!!!!

Ri-ri came to visit Sunday - Wednesday, wooooo-hooooooo! The girls had so much fun every minute they played together. And let me tell ya, did they ever play hard!

Jayda and Riley pretending to be "night-night" in the tent!

We took the girls to the Children's Musuem on Tuesday morning. They had a blast with all of the fun stuff at the musuem.

Drawing a picture for daddy, of course.

Sweet girls holding hands in the elevator.

Tuesday night Ri-ri and Michelle came over for quesadillas and then we gave the gilrs a bath together. After their bathtime they got to drink their milk and get ready for bed together, so fun!

It's bath time, yay!!

Trying to get the girls calmed down for bedtime, but it wasn't really working very well.

Pretty girls rocking in the chair together.

They were both telling me "p-cess, p-cess!!"

Relaxing Weekend

We had a very nice, relaxing weekend at home this past weekend. We went to the pool several times, which Jayda absolutely loved, especially since daddy was there to play too (she loves to watch Jacob go off the diving board)! Let me tell ya, that girl is going to turn into a fish soon. She loves the water so much. I'm really hoping to put her on the summer league swim team within the next year or two. I know that she would love it! Her newest thing is to jump up and down in the water. She'll just jump and jump and jump forever. She laughs and gets a kick out of herself. Poor thing even got blisters on her toes yesterday from jumping so much. Guess I'll have to put the watershoes back on! Oh, and she hates to get out of the pool. She throws some major temper tantrums when we have to leave. Thankfully I have figured out that I can get her home, without too much of a fuss most of the time, if I promise a popsicle when we get home. Thank goodness for popsicles!

On saturday some guys were mulching one of our neighbors yards and asked if we'd like to have ours done. I'd been wanting to get our yard done since we moved here, A YEAR AGO, however we always said we shouldn't spend money on it. Thankfully the guys talked Jacob into getting it done and now are yard looks brand new, hallelulajah! Maybe now we will stop getting HOA letters every other month, wishful thinking! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Goggle time!

Our "new" yard, yay!
